Fall of Rome Classroom Activity: Roman Empire Simulation Lesson for Ancient Rome

Description

This fall of Rome classroom activity takes your students through a simulation where they get to be the emperor of Rome. Will they make wise decisions to prevent the collapse of the empire or will their decisions quicken its demise?

Students face 16 scenarios where they choose from several options. If they choose wisely, they gain coins for their treasury and if they choose poorly, they lose coins. While the simulation takes some liberties, students will learn that the issues that led to the Fall of Rome were quite complex and it’s not easy ruling Rome! Afterwards, students will create a social media or HistoryBook account for Commodus, Diocletian, Constantine, or Theodosius.
