Add this fun Medieval Life simulation game to your Middle Ages unit. It’s perfect for helping students understand the Feudal structure of Medieval Europe better! In this Medieval Life game, the class is divided into six kingdoms. The students in each Middle Ages kingdom draw their feudal position for the game from a stack of cards and they are divided up into the feudal structure: monarch, lord, vassal, knight, peasant/serf. Before game play begins, students research their medieval feudal position (worksheet included) and each kingdom is given the gold, silver and bronze coins that they’ll need during the game.

To play, you’ll create a game board made up of 30 individual spaces – each measuring 8.5 x 11 inches (the size of a piece of computer or copy paper). Each of the game board spaces has an action that the kingdoms have to do when they land on the space. The actions vary from paying taxes and tithing to battling with other kingdoms and much more!

You may construct the board on a wall or on the floor. The game spaces may be rearranged differently each time for a unique game each time it’s played. Additionally, you may shorten or lengthen the board to decrease or increase playing time, so the game best fits your schedule.

Additionally, editable templates let you customize the playing cards and game spaces to make the game even better for your students.

You’ll need to:
→ cut out the gold, silver and bronze coins along with the game pieces for the kingdoms and the playing cards

→laminate all of the game parts so you can use it over and over again – just prepping the game once

→You’ll also need to read over the teacher instructions to understand how to play the game before playing it with your students
